The Good and the Bad

Email marketing is only one of the many marketing strategies you can carryout. A lot of companies use it but they can break or make a business:

  • The deal about spam emails. Inasmuch as you would want to reach as many people and get their attention, you have to be respectful enough so as not to annoy, irritate and waste people’s time. Get people’s attention the most white hat way possible and do not succumb to sleazy tactics such as spamming. People who will regard your emails as spam will end up deleting your mail—you get no results from your effort.
  • Provide all the necessary information. When you send a marketing email to a potential client, you are given one chance to capture their attention and get things going. Do not waste this opportunity by sending a letter that is insufficiently supplied with the necessary information. If you capture their attention effectively, you can get the right message across.
  • Solicit interest. The most effective attempt to run an email marketing campaign is one that is expected. When your recipient specifically requested to receive news or updates about your company, you are not throwing words on deaf ears. As a matter of fact, if you take time to solicit interest to your mails, you will transact more business through this route.
  • Use targeted mailing lists. To make your effort more useful, you can target your mails to a specific group of people. You can send email to people who are most likely to read what you send and not put it out for anyone, out there. It is more effective and proactive.

Plan a schedule for the mail. Consistency is valuable because a person who may have no need for your products services today, will have a need for it tomorrow. Given this, you can just try to set up regular mailing schedules: once a month or once every quarter, as means of establishing constancy. Even if you do not hear from them after the first mail, do not give up. Just send an email from time to time and hope that it will be returned.
